Did You Know There’s a 1000-Year Gap in The History of Science?

This gap coincides with the time when the Muslim civilization made remarkable contributions to science and philosophy, spanning from the 7th to the 16th century.

It’s particularly intriguing that information from periods before and after this era is abundantly clear and readily available, even to a toddler. Yet, when it comes to the era of Muslim civilization, there is a significant omission. This is evident not only in school textbooks but also in many widely available internet sources.

During this era, brilliant scholars made discoveries that still influence our lives today. They worked on mathematics, medicine, astronomy, and many other fields, laying the groundwork for the modern science we know now.

Sadly, many textbooks don’t mention these contributions. This means students miss out on learning about a vital part of history that shows how different cultures have shaped our world. The contributions of Muslim scholars, who were pioneers in various scientific fields, are often overshadowed  by the more commonly taught Western achievements.

With this blog and my Instagram account, I aim to change this and fill these gaps by creating content about this forgotten chapter in history. This not only enriches people’s understanding of science and history but also promotes appreciation for the diverse cultures that have collectively advanced human knowledge.

Thank you for joining me on this journey where I uncover and celebrate the forgotten heroes of science. By bringing their stories to light we can ensure that future generations receive a comprehensive and accurate education!
